Eden "Love Kluang" Gotong-Royong Campaign Report
31/8/2004 - 1:11PM - ah.boonİ
Eden Community Service of Kluang have organized a huge "district-wide" gotong-royong campaign. About 1000 youth turned up to clean up Kluang and that is indeed a good thing! The organizers have splitted the town into 5 areas and our own Agape are in charge of Area 3, the town area as well as part of the river. This campaign was organized as a show of love for Kluang and Malaysia in conjunction with our 47th National Day celebration(which is today). The even was a success, in my opinion and Kluang is definitely a lot cleaner now. Let our love for the town and the people reflects the Love of Christ in any and every way.
Like what Jean said, August is a heck of a month and Reece will be leaving Malaysia for U.S. tomorrow(in fact, he left Kluang on the recent Monday). Bon voyage, good friend! We'll see you soon. In case some of you wanna know, Reece has been with us for the past 7 weeks helping out in our youth group. He's also Jit's close friend and he's a white man too ;) Well, he has been a great and wonderful blessing to us and we, as a youth group and as a body of Christ, want to wish him "All the Best" in his journey to further his studies and all.
'Till next time!
August Happenings
25/8/04 - 4:55PM - jhmh
W@P 2004 concluded with a smash! as souls broke through darkness into light...Okay, think whatever you want about that statement. We had three Xtremely good bands playing : Hebron, AYA, and Glad Tidings.
Anyway the highlight of this post will be the BIRTHDAY of 7 of our YF members : Alex, Jessica, Wee Yin, Woan Na, Woan Shing, Woan Teng,
and Yi Wan. I don't know about the rest of you, but this was a definite surprise for me. Just goes to show that you never know when God will work.
I hope that everyone will do our job in welcoming and guiding our new
brother and sisters.
Next up, Youth Sunday!! (29th) By now my super-efficient sister should
have contacted all of you on what's what. If you haven't got a specific duty, just do your part and invite your friends to come to church on that day. Coincidentally, phew! the 1000 Youth Merdeka Gotong-royong will be on
the SAME day later in the evening. I'm looking forward to this time as an opportunity for us to get in contact with the Kluang youths.
The first wave of converts has already passed, will this be the next big
thing? Until then, let us continue to pray unceasingly.
