Bhushi Dam and Lonavala

This picnic was arranged by our cousin group. We were around 45 people together in our hired bus (Titanic).

For those who don't know, Lonavala is a favourite monsoon spot, just 150 Kms away from Mumbai, on the way to Pune. Any picnic that starts to Lonvala has many routes to take. People can go to various known and unknown hangouts in the area. There are many so. We can visit Karla Caves, Ekvira Temple, Khandala city, Bhushi Dam and lot many other places.

Good season to visit this region starts from monsoon (June) to well upto December. July is certainly the best time coz, by then everything becomes green and rains make the atomosphere really mushy. Many waterfalls flow during this season which can be fun to explore and have a watery trip. White fog covering the hills can really force a person uncover the inner self and enjoy the sheer natural beauty.

If you are going with a car or other such vehicle, note that the route that leads to Pune can be be covered using New Express Highway. This I think is the first road in India meant for speeding. Almost straight and smooth roads can be really inviting for driving.

PS: Don't visit lonaval alone, be in a group or take along your crush. The trip can be remembered for a lifetime.
